Fundraising for new clubhouse

Notice posted - June 11 2024

We have launched an appeal for our new clubhouse to which we hope members and others will respond.

We are almost at the clubhouse finishing line. After four years of persistence, we have been granted planning permission, and just recently have the agreement of the City Council for their contractors to prepare the site for the erection of our new building. The plan is for work to begin in October and for us to unveil our new clubhouse in January 2025.

You will not be surprised to hear, however, that some costs have gone up because of a few changes; a design change to deter vandalism, including arson, some additional space for storage, more expensive building supports and a few requests from the City Council planners. We have already raised £29,000 from one organization but we now need to raise a further £10,000 and we hope that you, could help achieve this and get our long-awaited project delivered on time.

Ideally some large donations will be needed if we are to reach our target, but whatever you can offer will be a huge help. Note that adding Gift Aid increases donations by 25% and that donors can be anonymous.

How we have missed having a toilet, a place to store our equipment, first aid, kettle and somewhere to welcome visiting teams and provide shelter during inclement weather. Hopefully, we will all soon be in a new era….
